Administrative Assistant


The Town of Mountain View is looking for an Administrative Assistant to support the Clerk’s Office at Town Hall. This position provides administrative support to the Town Clerk/Treasurer and others as designated by the Town Clerk, and will assist with a variety of general office duties such as those listed below. An experienced, mature, and versatile individual is desired.

This position will include, but is not limited to, the following duties:

• Handling Cash Receipts
• Processing Building Permits
• Performing Website Maintenance
• Purchasing Supplies and Maintenance
• Performing File Maintenance (general office, electronic filing, records retention)

Minimum Job Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• One-year general office experience, some municipality experience preferred
• Knowledge of current technology, such as computer software (Excel, Word, etc.) and proofreading, scanning, emailing, copy & fax machines, and postage meters

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and clearly talk and hear—both in person and on the telephone. Employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or move objects, tools, or controls; and to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust and focus.

Public Works Supervisor


The Town of Mountain View is seeking to fill a Public Works Supervisor position. This position is approximately 30 hours per week. Please see the job description below.

Job Title: Public Works Supervisor (Part Time – 30 hours per week)
Dept./Group: Operations
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Position reports to: Mayor

Position Summary (Purpose of job):

The primary goal of the Public Works Supervisor is to inspect and schedule maintenance in the following areas: storm drainage and waste water system, streets (including curbs and gutters), street lights, town hall building and park area.

Key Responsibilities (Below is a list of the top essential responsibilities in priority order):

1. Inspects and schedule maintenance in the Town’s infrastructure including streets, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, street lighting, waste water system, storm drainage system town hall buildings and park as defined (20%)

2. Prepares RFPs, oversees contracts and establishes standards of performance for contractors (20%)

3. Develops and maintains preventative maintenance procedures and schedules (20%)

4. Responds to complaints regarding infrastructure issues such as street conditions, traffic signals, street lighting, waste water system problems, and storm drainage, and code violation complaints (10%)

5. Miscellaneous tasks as required (i.e. trash removal and disposal, large debris removal, etc.) (10%)

6. Prepare reports e.g. CDOT Conservation Trust Fund (10%)

7. Attend meetings (5%)

8. Supports Town Council (5%)

Minimum Job Qualifications:

Education/Training
• Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, email
• Proper use of office equipment (i.e. printer, copier, etc.)
• Current valid driver’s license with less than 2 moving violations within past 3 years

Business Experience
• General knowledge of public works and maintenance practices

Specialized Knowledge/Skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to communicate diplomatically and execute work effectively

Working Conditions:
• Environment:
– Standard office and outdoor environment in all types of weather conditions
• Physical Requirements:
– Lifting up to 5O lbs
– Standing, bending, stooping
– Walking approximately three hours per day
– Using keyboard approximately two hours per day

Police Officer


The Mountain View Police Department (MVPD) is currently accepting applications for the position of Police officer.

Job Function: 

Law Enforcement – Lateral Entry

Education: 

H.S. Diploma/GED

Minimum Requirements: 

21 years of age, or older; valid Colorado Driver’s License; current Colorado POST board peace officer certification or ability to obtain Colorado POST certification by the time of appointment.

Experience: 

3 years preferred

Applicants will be required to complete a written test, interview board, background investigation, pre-employment polygraph, pre-employment psychological screening, and a medical clearance for duty.

Salary Range: 

$49,920 – $52,000

Benefits include Fire and Police Pension Association of Colorado (FPPA), defined benefit retirement plan, and EMPLOYEE ONLY health insurance plan (full family health plan not available).
