Court/Police Administrative Assistant Court/Police Position


The Town of Mountain View Town Hall is located at 4176 Benton St., near 44th Ave. and Sheridan Blvd. The Town employs police officers to protect and serve the citizens. With this service, officers additionally enforce traffic laws issuing tickets and code violation summons into the Town’s Municipal Court system.

General Job Description
The Town of Mountain View is looking for an Administrative Assistant to support the departments of the Municipal Court and the Police Department. This is a unique position that requires an experienced, mature, detailed, and versatile person to assist the department heads in processing the daily work.

This unique position will include, but will not be limited to, the following duties:
* Data entry of police-issued tickets for court processing and issuing court communications.
* Set up room for court sessions and process payments during court sessions.
* Assist and take court payments during regular Town business hours, posting, balancing.
* General office duties, including computer use (Microsoft Excel and Word); proofreading, scanning, emailing, copying & faxing documents, and processing mailings, cleaning, etc.
* File maintenance and data entry (to include electronic filing).

The following experience is desired:
* Bi-lingual English/Spanish speaking is a plus
* Previous court/police experience as well as records management

The Administrative Assistant can be expected to work up to approximately 20+Hours per week, Monday through Thursday. The Town Hall is closed on Fridays.

Pay range:
$16.00 to $18.00 per hour, depending on experience

Confidential Data:
The employee will be exposed to confidential police records. A few examples of these records are as follows: criminal records, requests for services, traffic information, juvenile records, domestic abuse complaints, and child abuse complaints, all written and computerized records. There are legal and internal controls on the release of any information from the Court/Police Department.

A background check consisting of employment history, professional references, criminal check and education verification will be conducted. Any offer of employment for this position will be contingent upon successful completion of the background check to the satisfaction of the Police Department.

Court/Police Admin Assistant Application


Police Officer


The Mountain View Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Police officer.

Job Function:  Law Enforcement – Lateral Entry

Education:  H.S. Diploma/GED

Minimum Requirements:  21 years of age, or older; valid Colorado Drivers’ License; current Colorado POST board peace officer certification or ability to obtain Colorado POST certification by the time of appointment.

Experience:  3 years preferred

Applicants will be required to complete a written test, interview board, background investigation, pre-employment polygraph, pre-employment psychological screening, and a medical clearance for duty.

Salary Range:  $49,920 – $52,000

Benefits include Fire and Police Pension Association of Colorado (FPPA), defined benefit retirement plan, and EMPLOYEE ONLY health insurance plan (full family health plan not available).
