PLEASE READ & FOLLOW THE COURT PROCEDURES BELOW:

The Mountain View Municipal Court has resumed scheduled Court appearances subject to strictly enforced procedures to help prevent the possible spread of COVID-19 illness.

Your health and safety are important to the Court and we are taking necessary steps to return to regular Court functions in a way that aims to preserve your health, safety, and legal rights.

If you have a fever, flu-like symptoms, have tested positive for COVID-19, suspect you have been exposed to the Novel Coronavirus, or have medical conditions that place you in a “High Risk” category relative to COVID-19, please do not come to court. If you would like to resolve your matter without appearing in Court, please call the Court staff at 303-432-9097.

If you are appearing in person for any Court proceeding, the following procedures will be strictly followed:

  1. The flow of people in and out of the building will be controlled by a Police Officer at the front door to the Town of Mountain View Municipal Court building.
  2. Defendants will be served on a first come, first serve basis. Please let the Officer at the door know you are an appearing Defendant when you arrive at the building.
  3. The front door Officer will ask about your health status when you arrive. He or she may also use an infrared thermometer to take the temperature of visitors entering the building. Members of the public are strongly encouraged to consent to this testing.
  4. Face masks must be worn by individuals in the building or within 15 feet of the building’s entrance. The only exception to the face mask requirement is when a defendant or authorized companion has a respiratory problem which precludes wearing a mask. Wearing gloves is recommended.
  5. No more than two (2) people will be allowed into the building at any one time. Court staff and Police staff are not included in the two (2) person limit.
  6. If you have an attorney, the attorney may accompany you. The attorney will count towards the two (2) person limit.
  7. If you are a juvenile, one (1) parent or guardian may come with you.
  8. You will be required to sanitize your hands/gloves when entering the building: Hand sanitizer will be provided for this purpose.
  9. Social Distancing is required! Maintain a minimum of Six (6) feet between yourself and all other persons while waiting outside the court building and within the courthouse.
  10. The Town Prosecutor will meet with you at a safe distance.
  11. If you reach a disposition in your case, you will appear in front of the Judge at a safe distance.
  12. Written advisements concerning your rights will be given to you prior to your meeting with the Town Prosecutor. You will keep the written advisement. No exchange of any forms or other papers will take place after you are provided with the advisement.
  13. Receipts and Stay of Execution (SOE) payment plans will be mailed to you after the court session.
  14. If you have any concerns or questions, please contact court staff at 303-432-9097.
